Take a short walk in to Dorset to shop, eat, etc., or take advantage of a relaxing atmosphere on site. Park Rapids is less than 10 minutes away. There are many activities throughout spring, summer, and fall, with more than 25 lakes and rivers within a 5 mile radius, offering water sports and very good fishing. The Paul Bunyan State Forest is 10 minutes away, and the Itasca State Park (headwaters of the Mississippi River) is 27 miles away. AMENITIES: 18 Hole Miniature Golf (put-put) Course, Fire Pit, Picnic Tables, Gravel Roads, Level Grass Sites,The Heartland Trail is asphalt and excellent for biking, hiking, running and rollerblading. Adjacent to the hard surface trail is a 16 foot wide dirt trail for Horseback Riding, with a DNR day park just across the fence from the RV Park....which has 10 horse pens and a playground for public use. in Dorset on St Hwy 226, one mile North of St Hwy 34. From
the intersection of US Hwy 71 and St Hwy 34, in Park Rapids, go East
on St Hwy 34 for 6 miles to St Hwy 226, then one mile North to Dorset.
Just after crossing the Heartland Trail, turn right
on Festival Trail for 200 feet to park entrance. |
