DESCRIPTION: Camp Nelson is locally owned and operated and overlooks the scenic Kentucky River, and overlooks the Kentucky River Palisades. Local attractions include Camp Nelson Civil War Heritage Park, (civil war reenactment last weekend in April). Historical markings on the Kentucky River cover 42 miles in Jessamine and Garrard counties, Shaker Village, and Herrington Lake. Shopping and restaurants are available in Nicholasville.

AMENITIES: Boat Ramp, Fishing, Swimming Pool, Camp Store (Ice), Laundromat, Restrooms and Showers, Gravel and Grass Sites, Horseshoes, Basketball, Volleyball Court, Playground, Walking Trails, Pets Welcome.

DIRECTIONS: From Nicholasville, go south on US 27 8 miles and cross the Kentucky River Bridge. Take the first left onto Old Lexington Road East to the end...about 1 1/2 miles.

Recreation USA Members will pay $12.50 a night. Price is for 2 adults and 2 children. $5.00 for each additional guest.
