Here To Return To Our Home Page Chickasabogue Park Sites: 38 W/E/S DESCRIPTION: Chickabogue Park is named for the creek that flows through the center of the 1100 acre recreation facility and wildlife refuge. Located near the park office is the oldest Methodist /Episcopal church in Alabama. It is now a museum with exhibits and artifacts from various periods of foreign, Indian, and local occupation. French, Spanish, and English colonial artifacts and maps are found here, as well as prehistoric Indian, African slave, and plantation-era memorabilia. Many photographs of old Mobile scenes hang on the walls. The city of Mobile is nearby for restaurants, shopping, etc. AMENITIES: 24 Hour Security,Covered Pavilions, Kayaking, Canoe Rental, Boat Launch, Swimming, Fishing, 3 Comfort Stations, Laundry Facilities,Dump Station, Large Shaded RV and Tent Sites, Fire Rings, Grill and Picnic Tables throughout the park, Basketball Courts, Softball Fields, a Performing Arts Stage a wide variety of Playground Equipment, Disc Golf, 17 miles of Hiking and Biking Trails, Pets Welcome. DIRECTIONS: Going North on I-65: Take Exit 13, turn left onto Industrial Parkway (Hwy 158), turn left onto Shelton Beach Rd (Hwy 213 South), Turn left at yellow flashing caution light onto Whistler St, turn left onto Aldock Rd. Park is straight ahead.
